About
Dusty Hall is a media composer known especially for his quirky jazz-based scores to animations and his extensive experience scoring TV series and movies for major networks. For the interactive app "Novel Effect", he created immersive musical soundscapes that engage children through reading adventures. His current projects include the short animation "MMANWU" directed by Uzo Ngwu, and the live-action short "Happy Monday" by Ian Mitchell.
Dusty recently co-scored "Condition of Return" starring Dean Cain and has written music on over 40 Lifetime Original Movies. His TV series credits include "Cold Case Files" and Netflix’s "Delhi Crime", the CNN docuseries "The People V. the Klan", and Vice's "Chyna". Dusty frequently collaborates with successful Hollywood composers including Richard Bowers, Ceiri Torjussen, and Bobby Rose.
Growing up in rural Wyoming, Dusty played piano, guitar, and drums and studied opera singing at Nebraska Wesleyan University before deciding to follow his dream of creating music for film. This led him to study film scoring at the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program at the Seattle Film Institute under composer Hummie Mann ("Robin Hood: Men in Tights"). Dusty moved to Los Angeles in 2017 and quickly found himself in demand as a versatile composer. He also owns a keytar and is not afraid to use it!
